About Us

Bill Rogan and  Jeff Andrews first hosted "Artificial Turf" in February of 2003. They first teamed up calling high school football and basketball in Colorado on cable television in the fall of 2000. Andy Cornell was added as a co-host in 2005 as other obligations have limited Jeff's role to isolated hosting assignments and guest appearances. Casey Bloyer is the third man of the Turf roundtable. Producer Don Apodaca keeps the show running, sometimes smoothly. A unique personality, "The Enforcer's" sports updates make radio history every show...and not necessarily good history.

Bill has more than 22-years of sports broadcasting experience in both radio and television. He was the basketball and hockey play-by-play broadcaster for Army for 11 seasons and announced 5 seasons of minor league baseball.  He estimates he has broadcast well over 1,500 live sporting events and conducted over 5,000 interviews. A graduate of Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Bill was a light-hitting infielder on the Dukes baseball team. His proudest athletic moment though was winning the Artificial Turf Bowling tournament in February of 2004.
Currently, Bill is the sports director at KNUS Radio in Denver and is the morning sports anchor. He also broadcasts amateur wrestling, including the Colorado High School State Championships, as well as high school football and basketball on television. Bill also announces horse racing at Arapahoe Park and says it is the most difficult sport he has called.

Andy is a Colorado College graduate and he was a standout on the Tigers football team. Prior to playing in college, Andy played football and ran track at Englewood (CO) High School where he has returned as a coach for both sports. A local businessman, Andy is a recruiter and is always looking for sharp people. If you are looking to make a career change or for a part-time opportunity, contact Andy at 303-790-9050.
Andy is well versed in all sports, especially football. However, Bill thinks Andy needs to improve his attitude towards baseball.

Casey, who played football at Chadron State, is a former Turf intern who paid a visit to the show in February of 2007. He sat down, put on a head set and then started talking. He hasn't left since. Casey, a Yankees fan, is a Rangeview HS grad and also an Ohio Center For Broadcasting product.

Don played football at Thomas Jefferson HS. Being a fan of astronomy, Don took up space at TJ. After a stint in the Army and graduating from broadcast school, "The Enforcer" somehow, someway, landed on The Turf. Bill once saw Don naked in the control room. Don't ask.

Jeff has worked in radio and television sports since he began as a production assistant at the CBS affiliate in Bangor, Maine in 1985. He has also been a sports reporter for the Resort Sports Network where he covered skiing and hosted a televised 2 1/2 hour morning show. Jeff also worked for KACT-TV in Aurora, Colorado before joining Bill on high school sports coverage.
Besides sportscasting, Jeff spent several years touring across the country as a musician. He displayed his musical talents in the well received CD "Josias River."
A graduate of Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, Jeff was a skier for the Jumbos and was all-intramural in everything else.
